PRIME is currently for refugees and forcibly displaced people in Canada. We are working to expand.
What PRIME is
PRIME is one of the programs of Foundation for a Path Forward. It combines a one-month AI upskilling intensive with up to 12 months of full-time career support, working alongside participants to land meaningful work.
The program is structured around a simple insight: most career programs train you and then send you out. PRIME does both at once. From the moment you enrol, two things happen in parallel — you start the AI training, and the team starts working with you to land a job from day one.
Who it’s for
PRIME is currently for refugees and forcibly displaced people in Canada. We’re working to expand the program to other groups, but right now it’s scoped to that audience. If that’s not you, the rest of our content brand — the podcast, the articles — is for anyone curious about AI in their work.
The four eligibility gates are:
- 18 or older
- Currently in Canada
- Authorized to work in Canada
- Forcibly displaced or refugee status

What you get
- One month of structured AI literacy training, sector-aligned to where you want to work
- Up to 12 months of concurrent full-time career support — résumé, interview prep, employer introductions, skill gaps
- Connections into a 35-organization partner network
- A team that responds within one business day (the public SLA — the operational target is faster)
- No fees, ever. The program is free for participants.
Track record
PRIME builds on Foundation for a Path Forward’s predecessor program, Coding in Colour Academy. In Q1 2026 alone, 13 participants secured new full-time jobs. Past cohorts have seen placement rates above 80% within three months of graduation.

The Government of Canada, the Province of British Columbia, and the DIGITAL Supercluster — alongside other funders listed on primecareers.ca.
