About

A Canadian charity. A small team. A specific job.

Foundation for a Path Forward runs programs and a publication that help people build careers as AI reshapes work. We are not a think tank. We are not a consultancy. We are a registered Canadian charity, and most of the people running it have, at some point, sat across a desk from someone whose career was on the line.

What we believe

Three things we keep coming back to.

Training and placement aren't sequential. Most career programs train you, hand you a certificate, and then send you out to find work. People fall through the gap between those two phases. Our flagship program (PRIME) was designed around the opposite belief — training and placement happen at the same time, from day one.

The people most likely to be hurt by AI's labor effects aren't in the rooms where AI is being designed. So we work with refugees and forcibly displaced people in Canada — and we publish a free podcast and essays for everyone else trying to figure this out.

Plain language is a moral position, not a stylistic one. Hype excludes. Doom excludes. Jargon excludes. If we can't say it the way a friend would say it over coffee, we're not allowed to publish it.

Who's behind it

A small, named editorial team.

No bylines hidden behind "Editor." Same three people writing, editing, producing every piece — and easy to email.

Host · Co-founder

Yusuf

Co-founder of FFPF. Hosts the podcast and runs the program intake. The same person on the show is the one who'll email you back.

Editor

Sally

Writes the long-form essays and runs the editorial voice. The plain-language register is mostly hers. We argue about commas a lot.

Producer

Tariq

Books guests, produces the audio, handles the research. The reason there's a transcript at all.
